I split my studio time between sculpting and making functional ware. My sculpture time is the time when I allow my mind to rest and I just watch what comes. I suppose it’s not too different from writing a book and having the characters do what they will. I usually find myself seeing a story emerge about the piece I am working with—no matter what form the piece should take (human, plant, animal or abstract shape). As with most of my work, I often add textures which add complexity to the piece and to its story.
